Marimekko

A quirky little shop located on King Street right next to Louis Vuitton offering popular Finnish design homewares, fashion, bags and accessories and decals. The colourful displays within the shop are impressive and will wake up any tired eyes and the simple quirkyness of the store will have you leaving with at least a coffee cup to brighten up your desk. The staff are very friendly and happy to help.

I'd been thinking about getting more Marimekko coffee cups so when I heard about them opening stores in Sydney and Melbourne, I couldn't wait to visit. I get that you can buy their products online and retail outlets stock their range, but you know, it's never the same.



It was everything I expected and more. Located on King Street right beside Louis Vuitton, you walk up a short flight of stairs into two floors of impeccably sleek interiors. The vibrant colours they are known for catch your eye immediately. I make a beeline for the fabrics and the homewares on display on the first floor. The staff are friendly and helpful (and not pushy), and tell me I can find more tableware upstairs. I make my way up and find myself poring over the pretty displays and shelves.



There is, however, one major problem. I want everything.
