On the 12th of October 2018 , I went to the Emergency department of the Marrondah Hospital due to severe pain on the right side of abdomen. The duty nurse Noel and doctor was very helpful and comforting. They gave me the required painkillers and after blood tests, CT scan and X-rays, I was told that I had appendixitis and Appendix had burst.
I was warded and emergency operation was done immediately the next morning.
I will like to take this opppurtunity to thank all the Surgeons, Doctors , Nurses and other hospital staff of 3 ward East and Surgical Team 1 for their excellent and professional service.
I was discharged after 5 night stay.
Special mention nurses Shannine,Noel, Grace and others ( forget names), very professional and caring. Thank you all very much.
So, after showing up last minute without a booking, staff were courteous despite clearly having a lot of guests checking in.
It took a short while for them to find a room which was available, which ended up being a single suite with a nice open plan design.
Decor was 'Minimalist Medical', but i felt it kept in theme with what the designers and architects were going for.
Staff were lovely, and very attentive. I had read some previous bad reviews but having stayed here previously I wasn't concerned. They attended to any of my needs promptly, including a free photography session from the in-house photographer.
I found a great local pizzeria who delivered, meaning i didn't even have to leave my room!
At the conclusion of my stay the staff even gave me complimentary hire of walking aides.
All around a great experience. I will definitely stay again of i am in need of a bed and am in the area.
Doctors are good. The parking though is ridiculous. Looked for a park around the hospital for 20mins, not one even though they have a big parking lot with less than half the 'staff' parking empty. I then had to park 1km, a couple blocks away and hop on the crutches with a broken blown out knee, finally arriving there 10mins late. Complete nonsense!
