Marsala Cafe Catering and Giftwares

The front of this cafe is quite inviting with all the various giftwares on display and the menu actually reads quite well. I had the poached eggs on sourdough with baked beans and a short black coffee. The verdict: The eggs were ok but not poached extremely well, but the baked beans were from a can. This was disappointing and I would expect much more from a cafe in this region of Victoria as many cafe/restaurants pride themselves on fresh, locally grown, homemade produce. Now the coffee: not great at all. I got the impression the staff didn't really know what they were doing. My coffee was far too long for a short black, lacked body and tasted bitter. Having said all this I think the place has great potential. With some attention given to the quality of the coffee and not using canned food, it could become a great place.
