After my sons 18th birthday party yesterday just shows how great this place has become again the $10 roast meals are back meals are great staff are beyond help full making it just work with no stress.
Upgraded playground for all ages including my special needs son.
Thank you again xoxo
The staff are teriffic no doubt about it - friendly and attentive. However the venue itself looks, feels and smells rundown, seedy and grubby. I went there for dinner with a friend and wish I hadn't.
Okay the food was alright, nothing amazing but I wasn't expecting anything incredible - it's pub food. While there appears to be a dedicated 'dining area', it was just plastic chairs and filthy tables jammed in a corner, and all under rather harsh lights.
We thought of eating near an open window but the locals outside were puffing away on their cigarettes which meant the smoke was wofting in. We ended up a high-set table near the hallway leading to the toilets. Very unpleasant.
Seriously, this place needs an overhaul. Most certainly it needs a proper dining area, one that has at least some feeling of being separated from the bar and the smokers and the horse racing on the TV's.
It is long overdue for an upgrade.
I would just like to say that they do a differant roast each day ie lamb one day the next pork etc and for under $10 dollars I dare anyone to find a better value meal. They are large serves and to date I have never had anything negitive I could say about the roast meals, I take my mother and father with me and they agree completly.
Good little tavern. Meals are a good price and are pretty big. A bit disappointed my parmigiana tho....It came out with salami when it was listed as virginian ham on the menu. The salad was also a little on the old and wilted side. The beers are quite expensive for Marsden....$5.90 for a schooner. They had the footy on the big screen and it looks like a good set up for the origin. The small dining area is pushed up to the back of the tavern. We went on a saturday night and as they left they were setting up karoke. All-in-all a good tavern.
