If you are researching on Marston Cook you have come to right place. Unfortunately I never reviewed them before renting from them. I have suffered endlessly from their lack of unprofessionalism. They never resolve any issues but are quick to call if it is regarding money. The only time they responded quickly was when they thought we had not paid them rent, what had happened was our money went out of our account on usual set day and it happened to be Sunday, which delayed their payment from one day. They were quick to call but they never reply to any problems you have with them. Apparently landlord suffered with their unprofessionalism too. So he now has new agent for our property. I can not describe everything they did to us here but I am taking them to court soon.
Rented a property through them. No issues until vacating. After I had the house professionally cleaned and handed in the keys they gave me a Bond Claim form. I filled in the form and returned it the next day. Nearly two weeks later and they haven't submitted the form to RTBA and the property manager has not returned my calls after repeated attempts to contact.
Terrible. I have dealt with many Real Estate agencies both personally and professionally and this lot gives the rest of the profession (term used very loosely) a bad name. If I could give them no stars I would. My advice to Landlords would be that if you wish to keep your tenants for a length of time beyond that of a single term, do not have these people represent you. After repeated attempts to remedy problems via the agents and nothing getting done, I got hold of the landlord directly who was unaware of any issues I raised and he sorted the issues out once I brought them to his attention. The property is now managed by another agent because of the ineptitude and incompetence of this office.
Experienced this lot as a tenant. They are clearly disinterested in helping tenants in any meaningful way. They are exceptionally difficult to contact - regularly ignoring all messages (text, phone, emails) - one time in particular, it took over 15 messages over a week to get in touch! When they do finally reply, requests for repairs took excessive amounts of time to work through before the problem was solved (e.g. 5 months to replace one appliance!). If offered the choice between two equal properties, I would choose the one *not* managed by Marston Cook every time!
