Went for a pink slip and guy took my car and said come back in an hour. Called shortly afterwards with a list of problems which of one was valid. Back light was out. Took it to my usual mechanic which was further away to get fixed and new pink slip. Stick with your own mechy and avoid if possible. Got charged full pink slip price.
The $41 charge is for a service rendered by the mechanic which was in this case for a pink slip (registration inspection) regardless if the vehicle passes or not. it’s a one off fee providing that you return the vehicle within the 14 day cut off period with repairs completed or you have had the mechanic carry out the necessary repairs. I’m sorry you did not want to pay this but it was explained to you. And as you stated in your comment you then went to your regular mechanic got repair done and paid for a pink slip.
Sorry you feel that we did wrong by you. We follow the rules given by services NSW. Just because your regular mechanic passed your vehicle doesn't mean he has done the same. The charge is a standard price for the service rendered to you which in this case was an inspection of vehicle for registration.
Called on a Friday morning to get a pink slip completed for a work van, said it was fine to pop in before 4pm. Arrived at 3:40pm to have a guy tell me to come back tomorrow, reminded him that I called that morning. He went to get up and rushed over to the van, then bluntly said “tyres are bald, window tint is too dark, nothing I can do”, got back into the van and drove off. Treated me like I was dirt.
I wish I had seen this site before I went to this place. Booked my car in for a service, was quoted $280. When I went to pick it up was charged $330, and told it needed another $550 for gods know what?? Car is running worse than when I left it there. Not sure what to do??
I regret taking my car to this place. I took it in for a simple service and ended paying more than i was originally quoted, then informed i had to spend much more!!! Took it to another mechanic and was told nothing was wrong with it. I wish I had read the reviews on this site before i made this mistake, Dont recommend. Many more better and honest mechanics in the area.
If you brought your car in for a general service, we do look at the rest of the vehicle. If we feel there are issues with your vehicle we explain that to you prior to commencing on any further work and quote you on the complete job.
