Mash is one of the better cafes in Glenbrook. A lovely house that has been converted into a restaurant, Mash is all polished wooden floorboards inside and relaxing outdoor eating area out in the front garden. While I have been here for dinner, I mainly go to Mash for brunch. The eggs are done well served scrambled or poached and for the gluten intolerant they serve up a couple of hearty pieces of gluten free toast. They went through a phase of reducing their portion sizes (but keeping the prices the same) and at one point we considered not going back. However, they seem to have returned to normal, reasonably generous portions so I am hoping that was just a phase! Mash tends to be slightly more expensive than other cafes in the area so generous portions are important in terms of price. As I said, I have been for dinner too but only twice. great little spot nestled amongst the shops. set back from the road with a small grassy area for the kids and dogs to wander around. Local musicians play at the cafe for a great villagey atmosphere. The burgers and hand cut chips are very nice. Their pie of the day was pretty good but it would be nicer if the puff pasty was baked with the pie instead of separately.
