If anyone looking for a house to build with Masterton, We ask you to think twice. We signed up with M in July 2018 and it took 4 months time to submit the plans to the council. We have purchased their so-called Ultimate Inclusions package paying 50k additionally (than the normal inclusions) because it clearly stated that includes the site costs up to 1m fall and at that time we are aware our land has a 1m fall exactly. However, during the pre-construction process, they have charged us $12,500 as site costs, stating we have additional 1.1m fall and its only for 0.1m extra. We were devastated after hearing this because all of these came 3 weeks after they submitted the plans to the council. In reality, they should not bring any variations on plans after submitting to the council. With that, our total construction cost risen more than $530,000. I hope that the house when is finally finished is better than their commutation . They don't call back or respond to emails. After you paid the depot, its all downhill from there!!!!

I've complained about him but nothing has been done, I do not recommend this company, If i could have given a negative star i would have
Building a house with Masterton has been the worst experience of my life. I put a deposit down 2 years ago and I'm still waiting for a satisfactory completion of the building; despite the building contract stipulating they had 130 days to get to practical completion. I have been asking for an occupation certificate since September 2015 as it is a legal obligation to have one but I haven't received one yet. I did the final inspection and the Builder promised me that the building would be finished prior to me moving in 14 days after. $ months on and my place looks like a war zone. From my experiences I believe that they are very poor communicators and continually make you feel like your being ignored; however, they are very good at communicating when they require a progress payment. They put the wrong screen doors on my front door and damaged frames and have not made any effort to fix them. Nor have they refunded me for paying for multiple screen doors. ...read more
