Matty Bongos
Matt has been playing any percussion instrument he can get his hands on since 1997 and has also been teaching since 1999. In this time he has played in a vast variety of musical settings from a range of cultural backgrounds and genres. This includes performances with touring international artists from Spain (Joaquin Ruiz, Juan Soto, Arcadio Marin), India (Chandrakant Sardeshmukh), and Turkey (Latif Bolat) and support slots for Talvin Singh (UK) and Krafty Kuts (UK). Matt is competent in a wide variety of percussive styles and has traveled widely including trips to Cuba, West Africa and South America to experience and study percussion first hand. Matt has played in numerous bands and is currently a member of Percussion Junction, Obrobini, Aiwa and also plays with other musicians from Sydney and Wollongong some of which you will find on his Myspace friends list. Matt also enjoys venturing into new projects with other artists.
