Contracted McIntosh last tuesday and ended up paying over $600 labour for 2 guys to spend 4 hours installing 2 simple powerpoints - one through an outdoor conduit and the other using a cable already brought into the wall cavity. To add insult the hourly rates were initially quoted without GST, meaning that when basic materials and GST were added the bill came to over $700. Again, for 2 power points. Won't be calling again.
Hi Frank
Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately this job was not so simple, the cable already in the cavity (we assume run by you?) was not long enough to reach the junction point, so had to be rerun and clipped correctly under your floorspace by our electrician. We then reused this original cable on the outdoor powerpoint, which also required conduit to be drilled into and run under your deck, in order to save you money on additional cable. Our aim is always to get the job done as efficiently as possible, to save time and money, but we must also be 100% compliant by AS3000 electrical standards and ensure the installation is carried out correctly and to the highest standard.
