Never again will I go back there?? I have been attending this medical center for years and never experienced such horrible thing. I came as a walk in which in my understanding as been told before it's an approximately 2hrs wait. Today I waited for 4hrs 20mins until I walked off very upset and disappointed at the receptionist. every time I walked up to see what's going on and roughly how long I am to wait for! they can't give me an answer, move to another receptionist another excuse there's one more Person ahead of you then 4hrs later still no help what so ever even though I told them I'm an asthmatic all I wanted was a script for medication because I had an appointment at the hospital at 3 ...read more
Don’t bother! Waited three and a half hours for a two minute consult and a script for antibiotics. I arrived at 3.30pm and watched doctors leave around five, leaving only one doctor on duty despite being open until 10pm. After about 6pm, staff were more or less telling new arrivals not to bother because they would wait more than three hours (there were ten people waiting at this stage). One family with little ones walked out saying they would go home and call an after hours doctor. Wish I had thought of that! Staff were polite which is the only reason I have given two stars.
Beware of bulk billing doctors charging for services that were not required. Double billing of consults for Workcover visits also charged to Medicare. I was not aware of this until it was too late. Attended this practice on a number of occasions for illnesses such as cold/flu and minor infections usually spending only a few minutes with a GP. Mental health referrals and other false information had been added to many of these consults without my knowledge. This has been done by a number of Doctors at this practise. Medical records are poorly maintained. They do not contact you for confimation when disclosing your records to third parties and do not keep disclosure logs. If you do go to this place I would suggest checking everything they write down and make the GP print and sign a copy of the notes for you before you leave the room.
Thanks, JT Smith. I did not know this happens at Oxley Medical Cent. I will check what they actually write and bill for, if I ever attend again.
