Megumi
Megumi is a hit with Frankston locals. Famed for its Japanese cuisine, the food is amazing and the service great.
The decor may be plain and simple, but it creates a relaxed, informal and welcoming dining area. Take away is also an option and extremely popular.

I've been eating at Megumi Japanese Restaurant for almost a decade now, and it always makes a trip to Frankston that little bit more enjoyable for me.
The food is consistently fresh, masterfully prepared and always delicious. It's a gem of a restaurant wedged in Frankston's inner-urban blight - next to the eyesore of a Peninsula Centre, across from the abandoned cinema complex and right near another liquor superstore. However, once you're inside the focus is on good service and great meals. Even better, the price is much less than what you'd expect to pay in the Melbourne CBD for comparable Japanese fare. Easily one of Frankston's best restaurants, Megumi is a gastronomic delight I hope to be enjoying for many more decades from now.
Megumi manages to be a culinary sensation without all of the pretentiousness that is often coupled with exquisite food. The service is prompt and friendly. The decor is simple and unspectacular, which matches well with jeans and a t-shirt ;) Take away is available (and very popular). And did I mention that the food is exquisite?
Chef Yasu Oyama is a master craftsman and has created a menu of simple and complex items which are a wonder to taste. From from the sushi and sashimi staples through to melt-in-your mouth specials, the man is a legend.
I've been to Megumi a great many times: During the week for a cheap lunchtime special, and at night, both during the week and on the weekend. The place is always full - which is testament to Yasua's skill - and I'm always completely satisfied when I leave.
