Shopping Centres
Melbourne Central

Melbourne Central, one of my favourite shopping centres to pop in to. Definitely very central. I like the layout and how it connects to Emporium on a higher level, makes it easy to avoid outside traffic. My recent trip was to meet up with a friend at the food court for lunch. The food court has been renovated so a better variety and much more seatings. I grabbed a quick meal at Mc Donalds and was happy to be seated along the window looking down to the busy traffic of La Trobe street. Very busy for a lunch time and it took us a while to find seats. After lunch we walked around the centre and did a bit of window shopping, i prefer to walk on the highper floors, seems to be less people walking through compared to the bottom and lower levels. There is the connection bridge in between where there are seats and its nice sitting there when the sun is out because its so warm and could fall a sleep if they had a bench to lay on. Easy to get around as there is information ...read more
As visitors to this city, we found this plaza to be dreadful. Especially when travelling with wheelchairs. To not have lifts with decent signage saying that they don't go to every floor, is quite ridiculous. Sure the amazing structure in the middle of the building is fabulous. But finding anything was horrendous, especially when our small group got separated due to lack of room in the lift and some of us opting to use the escalator. It took us half an hour to reunite as a group, even though we could see our people on the floor below us. Horrible place.
This is a shopping central set in the heart of Melbourne. It has a large range of fashion outlets and also food court and Hoyts cinema. There are a number of high street brands, all of which I love including Country Road, Saba and Gorman. You can access it readily from its very own train station with multiple exists (Swanston Street and Elizabeth Street) with great transport connections. There is even a Coles express supermarket which is really handy when you have forgotten to bring your lunch in from work. I think the lighting in the lower grounds could be improved slightly.
