Originally from Brazil, Ivan has been practicing the "Gentle Art' for over 15 years. Melbourne Jiu-Jitsu Academy offers a range of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self defence classes for children and adults.

Helio Gracie developed the principles of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. It gives the weaker the ability and confidence to defeat stronger and heavier opponents. At Melbourne Jiu-Jitsu Academy you will learn the fundamentals of this martial art often referred to as �The gentle art�.
Our kids program focuses on making self-defence and physical education fun. We use conditioning and skill-oriented games to engage and challenge kids. When we moved from Sydney we were looking for a BJJ academy for my daughter to continue training. We came across Ivan at MJJA in 2018 when he had just opened the academy. My daughter was alone at start but over time the students came and now there is a cool community around it. My daughter loves coming to meet her Jiu Jitsu friends, and enjoys learning not only the technique but also dicipline, respect and confidence from a patient and caring instructor. Thanks Ivan!
