Dr. Chandrasekaran is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in advanced techniques and accelerated rehabilitation following arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee. Dr. Chandrasekaran attended Canberra Grammar School achieving a Tertiary Entrance Rank of 99.75. He graduated from his medical degree with honours from the University of New South Wales. He completed his general orthopaedic training through the Royal Australasia College of Surgeons and Australian Orthopaedic Association after which he was selected to complete further subspecialist training over a period of three years in hip surgery at the world renowned Exeter Hip Unit in the United Kingdom, The American Hip Institute in Chicago and in Winterthur Switzerland.

Dr. Chandrasekaran specialises in adolescent and adult hip conditions. These include hip arthroscopy for labral tears and femoroacetabular impingement and key hole surgeon for abductor and hamstring tears. Dr. Chandrseakaran has trained for one year in the United States in minimally invasive robotic day surgery total hip replacement and is involved in the implementation of this technology in Australia.

Dr. Chandrasekaran is committed to research and teaching. He has completed a Masters of Surgery that involved a thesis on knee ligament injuries. Dr. Chandrasekaran has over 50 peer review publications in process in the field of hip arthroscopy and robotic surgery. He has been involved in teaching of medical students, orthopaedic trainees preparing for the fellowship exam and international orthopaedic fellows.
