I am a child psychologist with a Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology. During my years of training I always achieved high distinctions in clinical subjects related to assessment and diagnosis.

I have 30 years secondary school teaching experience and 10 years working in various counseling roles such as Drug & Alcohol Counselor, Adult Counselor in private practice, working with autistic children, primary school counselor and secondary school psychologist.

My psychological approach is based on clinical and humanistic principles such as case formulation, client centred, unconditional positive regard and strength based practices from positive psychology. Clients are encouraged to challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs through practices such as cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, emotion focused therapy and mindfulness.

I have counseling experience in grief and loss, trauma, pain and anger management, drug and alcohol, relationship issues including sexuality and implemented effective group and individual interventions in managing challenging behaviours related to autism, ADHD and borderline personality disorder.

I have worked with individuals and families and have worked with children as young as 3 yrs old and adults to 72 yrs of age. It is highly recommended that when I see children and adolescents that I am able to work with parents or any other family member or significant other. Social support networks are crucial for long term positive changes to people's lives.
