Mercedes-Benz Melbourne, formally known as Lanes Motors opened in Exhibition Street Melbourne in 1916. Selling many vehicle makes and models, it wasnt until 1961 that the business sold its first Mercedes-Benz.
In 1985 Lanes Motors relocated to 252 Sturt Street South Melbourne where it traded with the Service Department, Body Repairs and Spare Parts all under one roof. In 1998 the business also underwent a name change to from Lanes Motors to Mercedes-Benz of Melbourne and also now boasted a team of 150 staff and commenced selling New as well as Used Vehicles.

These guys charge a ridiculous amount of money for a service but yet still tried to rip my friend off. They charged her $800 for a oil change on her 4 cylinder merc and when i looked att he invoice i saw they charged her for 9 litres of oil when her car only holds 7. I took it up with them and they gave her money back. Seriously thats a disgrace that they charge a huge amount for a service, a local mechanic did the next time for $270 using the same Castrol Edge Oil. DO NOT GET YOU CAR SERVICED HERE
An absolute disgrace! We took our car in for a warranty issue. After having the car for over 1 long month we were told twice that the car was fixed. Picked the car up and noticed the issue was not fixed within a minute of driving! After the third attempt we were then told by the "manager" that there was no issue and the car was fine. It is not fine and after hearing numerous ridiculous stories we gave up hope & picked the car up. The matter will be taken further by us, as we don't believe that they should treat clients in such a disrespectful way and if a car has an issue, you'd expect it to be fixed by the so called 'experts'
Our suggestion: Do not deal with this company. Steer clear!
I was with a friend recently looking at a number of luxury vehicles dealership as he was planning to purchase as part of a work arrangement. Ive never gone into any Mercedes dealership as its not my typical vehicle that Ive been keen on. From the moment he had driven into the dealership and walked into the new car area, there is almost a completely different vibe in comparison to most other dealerships Ive walked into. The salesman didnt approach us trying to obtain the sale; we were left alone to wonder around freely. Friendly smiles from various staffs as you would look around. We were than approach by one of the receptionist offering us a drink, when they say drink here they mean glassed bottled sparkling water or mineral not tap water from a plastic cup! As were waiting in their main lounge for someone to have a chat too, we were offered some snacks at their min bar, there were muffins, cakes, mini sandwiches it was almost a small version of an airport ...read more
