My car was hail damaged. But the damage merv newby did to it wrote it off. Stay away. In total they had my car for 11 weeks for a 2 week repair. And still the scratches and dents they added were stupendous. It appears they polish with wet n dry.
We always aim to repair every vehice back to the original pre-accident condition. Your car was re-directed to us by Suncorp after unfortunately sitting at Suncorp's Hail Centre for 7 weeks. On the 17th July your vehicle was towed to us and it stayed with us for 4 weeks in total. On completion of repairs your car was inspected by Suncorp and your preferred Body shop Panel Plus who also advised they too could not have done a better job. The speculations that we damaged your vehicle is absolutely ridiculous and completely not valid and had no impact on your car being a write off. Suncorp In this situation of a large storm decided that it would be easier to end the ordeal.
I have used Merv Newby Smash for my wife's car after it was involved in an accident. Their service was top notch, I was kept informed along the way and best of all - I received my car in perfect condition, the repair was flawless. They made the whole situation an easy one.
I was that happy that I referred them to a work colleague when they needed a repair done and they had the same good experience.

Had the misfortune of an accident and was recommended to Merv Newby Smash Repairs by my insurance company. They helped me with my claim and I was extremely happy with the service and how my car looked when I got it back. In a nutshell they took care of everything even my hire car. I was very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needed a smash repairer.
This business has two halves, the smash repairs and the mechanic's workshop. Have not needed the smash repair service, but the mechanic (John) is fantastic. I got recommended this by my brother when I first got a car 5 years ago and have been going there ever since for all car servicing, pink slips and repairs.
John does an excellent job and I actually think he undercharges. For example, this month he gave me my pink slip for $39, even though my car had a dead brakelight and a dead rear light. He replaced both of these for $2.50 each including labour. That's unheardof these days, and what a bonus that he is an honest and highly skilled mechanic.
