Hidden down a laneway behind the light rail stop before the tram turns onto Fitzroy Street are a couple of bars. One of them, when I wandered down here one afternoon was only starting to set up, however this one was open so I decided to step in for a drink. Mind you, I was the only one here at the time so I pretty much had the entire place to myself, and the bartender was really, really nice. In fact she pointed a few things out to me when I was looking around for a place the sit. They have a really nice outdoor area, and the smoking section is even divided from the non-smoking section by the laneway. When I went past here later that night it had become much more crowded, however it was a lovely place just to sit in the sun with a beer.
Not really my scene, everyone in their seems to be abit pretentious in my opinion. Seemed like they had a good wines list but for a non drinker like myself I only had the option of juice or redbull.
Not impressed with the music either as it was all crappy 1990's house and dance tracks and nothing new! We all got bored and left after one drink.
Consistently inconsiderate of the residential area. Has flagrantly ignored EPA recommendations on limits for noise and set up giant subwoofers that are louder than the Formula 1 Grand Prix. I guess they need to do something to announce themselves as locals wouldn't touch the place. The food and service is total crap.
Funny to see "beverywary's" comment here.....he/she seems to have left a lot of negative comments about various venues!
Probably one of those St.Kilda 'locals' who hates everything that is fun about the place..
