I left my Nissan XTrail with Shane who recently took over the Midas business in the centre of Gosford, NSW. He convinced me to do a complete fuel system service (cleaning of throttle body and inlet manifold) on top of the normal service of my car but when I picked it up at 7.07 PM (I was there at 6.00 PM but was asked -after a long day working at the hospital- to come back, at 6.30PM: in actual fact, was not ready until 7.07 PM, keeping in mind that the car had been with him since 8.00 in the morning, i.e. 'all day long'), the idle was too high (1700 instead of 700 +/- 50) and when on the next day, a Friday, my husband returned to question the reason, Shane said it would "fix itself" after several hundred kms, which it did not, so my husband returned first thing the following Monday morning and was asked to come back on Wednesday when he would fix the problem: on that Wednesday, after many attempts with a 'generic' computer and an hour spent at trying to fix the 'idle ...read more
WELL THAT'S WHY FAIR TRADING DISMISSED YOUR CLAIM AGAINST MIDAS AS YOU BLEW THE FUSE THAT WAS FOR THE POWER SOCKET NOTHING THAT WAS CARRIED OUT BY MIDAS. YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR PHONE CHARGER OR GPS PLUG BEFORE THAT HAPPENS AGAIN..
... and NO, I never used a GPS or phone Charger on that car, the car was working perfectly well (idle of engine normal) before MIDAS serviced the car, but integrity and honesty is a rare quality nowadays...
I left a car in good working order it was returned to me by Midas with an 'accelerated idle' and despite numerous attemots, Midas mechanic could not fix the problem, Nissan could in 'no time' telling me that was a current problem created by mechanics who do not have the computer Nissan dealership possess ...
... and you know yourself, I was the victim of both yourself, Midas, and the 'Member' judge whom, with all respect I have for elderly ladies, had no understanding of my mechanical (electrical) car problem, whatever obvious the circumstances were in that instance...
