Midway Tavern

Okay, maybe this part of Elizabeth is a little better than the otherside of the tracks, but this is still Elizabeth, and this is still pretty much a suburban pub with little to no character. It seems that they completely knocked down the old pub (if there ever was one) and rebuilt a new, more modern, looking place. Personally I don't think much of it because it basically lacks character. The other thing about this place is that there is hardly anything that really attracts me, being little more than a pokies room and a sports bar with a restaurant squeezed in between. As a place for a drink if you are a local (or maybe even a meal) then I am sure it is not all that bad, but it is not really a place that I am going to go out of my way to visit again.

Went to the Midway with family for Sunday lunch last week.
The food and ambiance were all good--- better than many similar pubs-- but the highlight was the outstanding customer service given by every staff member we dealt with.
Too often these days staff treat you as an impediment to their day-- not so here as they all went out of their way to make our dining experience first class-- there are many so called "silver service " restaurants who would do well to copy the customer service ethos of this place

Very disappointed in the Midway. Paid good money for Barramundi and after a few bites I couldn't eat any more. Asked if I could have some alfoil to take my meal home as I was not feeling too good. They would not give me any alfoil but I was welcome to use a napkin!!!! Have you ever heard anything like it. Unfortunately for them, we will not go back there again, neither will we take any visitors or friends. These hotels need some good proper training in customer service.

The Midway Tavern has a very nice family friendly feel. It has very generous and well presented meals compared to most other restaurants/pubs in the area. They have video games for the kids to play so they don't get bored while the adults talk which is very helpful. I tend to get the Kangaroo dish which is consistently well presented and full of flavour.
