Mie kokock badung is an Indonesian Restaurant in Maroubra junction specialising in Indo noodle dishes. A friendly restaurant with quick service perfect for a lunch break visit. They love noodles at this joint, evident by the signage at the front of the restaurant. I ordered the Mie panorama, egg noodles topped with shredded steamed chicken, BBQ pork as well as steamed and fried chicken dumplings. This dish made with a variety of cooking methods, boil, fry, steam and BBQ. Just add kecup manis and sambal to taste, but be aware the sambal is comparable to the lava fr om krakatau. A large portion and reasonably priced. Worthy of a stop, to get your noodle fix.
Situated away from the epicentre of the busy Maroubra Junction, Mie Kocok Bandung provides authentic Indonesian noodles as well as many other dishes known by the streets of Bandung, one of the busiest cities in Indonesia.
The shop is pretty small and brightly lit. With self-serve ordering, you will write your order on the notepad provided and give it to the staff at the checkout counter. The condiments and drinks are also self-serve.
The specialties of this store is the la mien noodle, sweet or savoury. This dish is quite popular due to its richness in taste. During my last visit, I also tried a combination of their Indonesian style dim-sim and fried tofu, served with peanut sauce (it was not on the menu but you can ask them to do half-half for you) this dish was quite decent and had a unique peanut sauce taste and texture.
The cleanliness of the shop is quite decent, although they could have done a little bit more to make it pristine.
Mie Kocok Bandung is the darling of the local Indonesian dining scene. Out-surviving its competitors since 2003, this noodle bar continues to attract a strong Indonesian crowd.

I love giving these small out of the way restaurants a chance. And I'll start off my saying that this review doesn't reflect the popularity of this place, whilst we were dining at the restaurant for Sunday lunch. There was well over 15 people waiting outside in the cold.
Unfortunately for myself and my three friends, we felt "Mie Kocok" was too "authentic" and perhaps just too different from what we expected in terms of ...read more
