I left my car at his garage and ask for a quote to fix a problem at the engine. At the end of the day he charged me 272.80 to carry out scanning, testing to engine and to change the oil.
He also quote $1000.00 to replace the exhaust oxygen sensors before and after cat.
I strong recomend to do not visit this mecanic.
I agree with the payment and agree with a second service to change the water coolant. Honestly I though it could be just a miscommunication problem since English is my second language. At the end I pay $410 for all those service and when I got home the water coolant was leaking from the water pump and the air condition is not working.
I went back to his garage one more time and he told me the water pump is broken and is not his fault. He seems pretty unhappy because he saw this review so any service now is refused and any conversation become unsustainable.
Regardless who is right this is just my experience with this mechanic and still strong recomend to do not visit he.
I used Mike for years for standard annual servicing but he couldn't cope when my car needed a new part. He charged me for a part that was under warranty, made excuses and blamed VW for delay in delivery time, sent text messages to the wrong phone number and when I collected the car its windscreen and engine bonnet was covered in break fluid. He charged me 15% over his quote. He had the car for 2 days and almost $1000 later I still have to take it somewhere else for wheel alignment and reverse light replacement.
I am gobsmacked, my wife has been a customer for 20 years, starting in the 90's when his workshop was in Darlinghurst, when we met, I also began using Mikes services. He has always been honest, helpful, reasonaable and I count myself fortunate that I have his services available to me when there are so many shyster automotive technicians in this city. Not one of these claims sounds in the slightest like something Mike would do.
