Milano's Hotel
Milano's Hotel in Brighton is in a prominent position with views of the ocean. It has a large main bar and bistro serving modern Australian cuisine, as well as an outdoor seating area. Functions including wedding and engagements can be booked.
A number of my friends have been repeat customers recently so as I was in the area I decided to check the venue out. First, great parking. Then, the place itself - outdoor area, upstairs out door area or internal. Gaming - not my taste. Bistro - nice tasting food at reasonable prices. Coffee - wow, it is very rare that I get a good cuppa without almost begging for it to be so. Thank you for the great customer service.
Booked a New Year function, table of 11, service was terrible, promised and advertised" choice of two" on set menu was non existant, complementary bottle of wine was conveniently ignored, promised music & 60s theme was pretty much missing, the DJ spent half the night playing with their mobile, 7pm start, but no music at all till 10pm, not festive atmosphere at all. it was livelier at the pub downstairs than at this 'fancy ' overpriced upstairs function. $95 for a set below everage meal with no choice of what u r eating( despite repeated enquiries prior to function)....When raised the matter with serving stuff, all our queries were brushed aside as irrelevant.
When voiced a complaint the next day, got an phone call back accused me for not reading their website with menu properly! No apology, no compensation! ps there was nothing on the website
PS we left early to get a meal elsewhere, as half of our table couldn't eat there! and that's on NY's eve!
Had parked the car and paid for 3 hours parking at Green Point and it seemed that Milano's was the only eating option close by. We entered this bistro and had to ask the staff for a table - they seemed not to notice us entering and wandering around aimlessly - they got us a table, which they had to quickly wipe down and we seated ourselves, but they forgot to give us the menus which they left at the adjoining table. I helped myself to the menu and there was a good selection to choose from, although the majority was a little pricey for lunch. We had to wait awhile for them to take our order, and eventually had to flag them down after we noticed that people seated after us were getting their orders taken before us - frustrating especially when you're starving! I ordered the Moroccan Lamb with cous cous and salad and the serving size was generous. The salad was ok but there was some dressing on it that did not look appealing - it was a thick beige coloured sauce ...read more
