I would say the Oasis is the biggest hostel in Mildura which means they have the best oppertunities to get a job. The owners help u out and find u a job asap. The rooms a quite big and very clean, most of the rooms are with own ensuit. I really loved to stay there met a lot of nice people and I think it is the best place to get the second year anyway. Not all of the jobs are best pay jobs but u always can safe up money. I had an awesome time there - would love to return one day!
great place to be. the oasis is one of the best working hostel I have been so far. I stayed for almost 5 month and I got a job at the garlic factory where I worked for almost the 5 month I started 2 weeks after I arrived. I was lucky Ididn't have to wait for long but while I was waiting I got different jobs little jobs. The owner Vince finds you jobs and helps you out whenever he can. I met a lot of awesome people and we enjoyed the summer time in mildura which is a nice town where u get everything you need.
The hostel is clean and it is located not far from the mall, shops, restaurants and bars.
I enjoyed every single day and I would recommend the hostel to everyone who wants to work and wants his days for the second year. Just go there.....
I had the best time there. The place is a really nice and clean working hostel. That means (working hostel)you jobs.The rent has to be paid on a thursday for a week (150 dollar) which is not too bad because most of the rooms are just 4 share with en suite - not a lot of hostel in Mildura can offer that. There is a huge outside area and a pool which is perfect in summer.We had a great time there, had few bbq's (the manager paid for it :-)) and partys. When I stayed there most of the people had a great job (worked at MFC or garlic factory) even those they didn't work in a factory earned enough money to safe up and travel afterwards.This place provides everything you need. There are a big kitchen, a TV room with a pool table (which we used a lot :-)) and free internet. The internet is not the fastest but i have never been to place/hostel in australia where the internet is actually high speed ;-).
