Still good. The service still excellent and they still have a great range of beers on tap. As usual we started with the snacks and received very decent serves of home made haloumi, arancini and burnt ends - everything was delicious. Our burger was generous and tasty and the pork belly was a huge serve, tender and juicy. I like the vegetable kebab on the side and the juslie was so good - I wanted to drink it.
I returned to the Mile End and it didn't disappoint. The service was excellent and they have a great range of beers on tap - some really interesting ones. Good wine list too. The menu, somehow, has gotten even better. We tried all of the snacks and they were each a decent serve and really tasty. The main meals were all excellent but the pick of the night was the lamb rump. A really great pub to catch up with mates.
First time to the Mile End and loved the vibe. Lovely beer garden leading into a room with couches. The dining room was lovely with the art and mismatched tables and chairs. Service was a bit hit and miss - maybe we hit a new person? Food was great - the beef cheek was the pick of the night - great mash, soft cheek and great sauce.
This place has certainly changed a lot since I first graced its presence years ago. I remember when it was still a fairly run down old pub with nothing to offer anybody but the locals. However it has since had a massive facelift and is now a much more trendy destination which serves a pretty decent schnitzel. The interior dcor has a very bohemian sixties charm to it which I really liked, and some of the more pop-art pictures on the wall (such as the combi-vans) really adds a lot of character to it. They also seem to have a fine dining area in one of the rooms. Since it is so close to some of my friend's houses, it is definitely a pub that I would come back to again since the atmosphere is just so eclectic it suits my tastes just fine. Okay, the food may be a little more expensive than other places, but it is certainly worth a visit.
