Sad ending to a long relationship - I am a self employed time poor single parent and yes I run late for appointments. On this occasion I was again 10 mins late and upon my arrival I found it odd that I was placed waiting as usually they have the chair ready for my to jump into.. I sat and waited 15 mins so now it was 25 mins past my appt time and the salon Management was out the back chatting. I thought this was odd. So I decided to duck out to the bakery to grab a roll quickly. Management soon followed me out asking what I was doing and I said I wasn't sure how long they would be and thought I would grab a roll. Management said I'm ready now so we went back in and I sat in the chair. They then started to rub her fingers through my hair and loudly saying ... oh no... oh no... Fantastic team of hairdressers. I have been going to Mitchelton Hair Design for a number of years and have always been happy with the friendly service, atmosphere in the salon and care given by the staff. The girls are always honest and thorough when consulting with me about a new colour or cut. The salon is a finalist again this year for the Quest newspaper small business awards and for good reason I wish them all the best!

Absolutely dread full experience. I have long dark brown wavy hair and wanted a short fringe so when my hair was pulled back for work my I still had some hair to frame my face and I wanted the regrowth coloured sound simple. Obviously too hard for them. the stylist spent 20 mins trying to convince me that I needed to keep my fringe long as it had a curl. She was insistent that it be left at jaw length and it was only after I insisted that I wanted it shorter did she finally do so and then it was the colour. I wanted a soft mocha colour and showed her the colour I wanted from the swatches. Once again its only my hair and I have no clue she insisted that I go darker and said she would make it half and half then she told the girl mixing to make it strength. It is hideous she has made it jet black and on a woman my age it just looks stupid. I wanted a dark brunette instead I look like a deranged Gothic princess. I love the friendly service at this salon, owner Fiona, and employee Erin, are both fantastic ambassadors for this business. This is an award-winning salon, and for good reason. Whenever I request a new style or colour the team takes the time to ensure I am informed about my choices beforehand. I've not seen any radical hair-styles emerge from this salon (although that is not to say they can't achieve this look if that's what you want!)
If you want a salon where the music is pumping, the stylists are more interested in their own look than yours, and paying $200 for a style cut - then this is not the salon for you. If you love friendly, down-to-earth, attentive stylists and a reasonably priced service, then I recommend Mitchelton Hair Design.
