MLC Gallery (c.1993) we focus on culturally driven art and history projects that unearth forgotten stories.Miriam Cabello established MLC Powerhouse Design Studio in 1993 & launched MLC Gallery in 2004; under her leadership and management it developed into a substantial and diversified community art and spatial design practice. Miriam has extensive experience in developing and implementing public art, exhibition, and education projects for the community, government, and commercial sectors.
MLC Gallery's international and national experience specialises in fusing art, culture, design, and education to establish profound community engagement. With over 25 years extensive experience leveraging artistic, design and academic cultural projects and events that enable successful, creative outcomes.
Miriam's dedication to education is intricately interwoven into the curatorial program, art workshops, developing Artist talks, surveys, and programs for tertiary students. In addition, establishing an international student internship program as part of the long-term exhibition research. Students from China, Holland, and Canada have contributed and have been inspired by research into toxic political experiments.
In 2015 Miriam Cabello returned to Sydney from the USA with an international award, Keys to the City of Daphne, Alabama and her artwork as part of the permanent collection of the United States Sports Academy Museum.
Miriam Cabello's art and artistic practice are emblematic of cross-cultural understanding and respect for human rights. Cabello's oil paintings emerge from these themes and are exquisitely realised in her iconic bodies of work:
