I love this place, I've been coming here for 4 years. Tried a bunch of places in the city and was so happy when I found this place, all the girls are so friendly and always do a fantastic job. Easily the best place in the CBD to get a mani or pedi.
Hi Janhavi thank you for your kind remarks. We always endeavor to provide the best possible service. It has always been our character from day one, and that's almost 18 years ago. We look forward to seeing you for many more years to come. Once again thanks Janhavi
Just got my eyebrows done. Firstly, the staff was so close to my face I could feel the breath inside my skull- it was like we were making out. Secondly the staff basically annihilated the end of one eyebrow then proceeded to put dripping hot wax into the crease of my eyelid because apparently hair grows there? The staff then went on to get wax in my actual hair. Like on my head, hair. I am very picky when it comes to my eyebrows and always give clear, direct instructions to whomever I pay $20 to groom them. Maybe it is because I am young that I get thrown the more inexperienced salon workers but in the end I am still a paying customer, and I am not happy. This is the second time I have had an issue with Modern Nails in Tivoli Plaza, Bourke Street.... Their nail art is amazing but as a long time customer I would suggest they either take waxing or the staff who does waxing off the board.
Hi Star and everyone concerned, I apologies for the extremely late reply to your comment as much of my time is devoted to work and family. It is only recently that these comments have been brought to my attention. I am very sorry but yet disappointed that you felt this way. It would have been productive and much more meaningful if you had inform the therapist or management there and then. Our staff are highly trained and experienced and eyebrow waxing is a sensitive and delicate service which requires close attention. I am sorry your experience was not to your expectations but at the same time disappointed that you Did not make the effort to communicate this to us or at least give the therapist an opportunity to voice her opinion. Thank you and we look forward to your reply. Regards Vinny - management
I've been going here for years and they are ok with nails. It's a bit hit and miss though. I hate that the girls talk to each other in a language I cannot understand and many times actually aren't looking at my nails while they're clipping or filing. And take the masks off when you talk to us!!!!!
I really think the waxing and tinting should be taken away. I don't know why I keep going back. Last week the girl messed the dye on my face and scrubbed so hard to get if off. I was left lying there quite helpless with my eyes closed (had lashes done as well) for so long, I had to call her back to tell her to take it off. My brows were much darker than I wanted. Yesterday I noticed why she made them so dark - I have burnt skin where she messed the dye. I imagine there was way too much bleach and it was runny.
I used to go here every second friday at 6pm. I would always book the day before. Every time I showed up I was waiting up to 30 or 40 mins to be seated. I have to catch a train at 7.20 and most times I would miss my train from waiting so long and them taking too long. Last time I went it took the staff 20mins to clip my cuticle on ONE finger. I never went back after that. If I book for 6 I expect to be seated and started at 6 or even 6.15. They let walkin-in people in even if they know they have an appointment booked at that time. Im lookig elsewhere. They are very friendly, but very unorganised, always running late.
