This is the second time Ive been to Mona Lisa on Lygon. Consistent with my earlier review that this place is just simply divine. From the service, to the food, I couldnt ask for any better. We were greeted with a friendly smile, and the waiter kindly going through the option with the desserts and various coffee/tea they had. The wait was very reasonable for the dishes to come out. Nicely presented, although we were only having coffee and cake there was no rush from the restaurant to move us on. I have found in the past with various restaurant, depending on what is ordered there is always the senses of payment required for the next customer, in this case they asked us to take our time and enjoy. The owner of the business popped outside where we were sitting and came over to see how everything was going, extremely friendly and warm. I would highly recommend this place for anyone on Lygon street definitely worth dining!
We went here yesterday on Anzac day, lovely weather so we sat outside. We had a large baby pram with us and they were very accommodating in moving the tables around outside to seat us. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed lovely glass of wine each with creme brulee desert and another dessert ' death by chocolate' both very delicious. My husband had a short white, been very picky with his coffee he said it was very well prepared. Highly recommend this restaurant whether you're after lunch, dinner or simply coffee.
WE ARE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST.
We drove 45 minutes to get there. Sat there for 105 minutes STARVING.
Arrived at 7pm. No sign of dinner at 8:45pm. We were DELIBERATELY ignored several times. After FORCING someone to speak to us, we asked how long dinner would be only to be ignored again. Other people that arrived after us were enjoying their dessert while we were starving and being ignored.
They ruined our evening.
WE ENDED UP LEAVING AT 9:50 AND DROVE 45 MINUTES BACK TO NARRE WARREN WHERE WE GOT 5 STAR SERVICE FROM OTHER RESTAURANT. The difference in service was remarkable.
The attitude of the staff was fantastic and we were having dinner after 10 minutes.
