What a fantastic place this is. I presented myself at Dandenong Hospital with an abdominal abscess which was chronic kidney disease. The procedure to drain my abscess was at Clayton and I ended up at Moorabbin for my recovery, which in all, took a week. So in essence I did the magical mystery tour of hospitals and ended up here. The level of care is wonderful. The nurses and doctors kept me informed and treated me with care and kindness. The hospital food was, wait for it, awesome and as relieved as I was to go home, I felt kind of sad I was leaving such a wonderful bunch of people. I am back next week for the removal of my kidney and I feel so grateful that I am back at Moorabbin, where care, kindness and excellence are the main prerequisites of their staff. Thank you, thank you, thank you! xx
This hospital was recently used for surgery by my family. Overall I was satisfied with the experience. My daughter was told to anticipate a short wait for her semi-urgent hospitalisation, but the wait in the end was much quicker than we could have hoped, and we were very relieved that the system was able to come through for her, as it did. The booking service was easy, and there were friendly courtesy call reminders before pre-surgery clinics and surgery dates. Even a call on the day of surgery to tell us to take our time coming in, as prior surgeries were taking longer than anticipated. (Which reduced our wait time and anxiety on the day.) The staff in these clinics were friendly, and incredibly kind. I felt they had all the time in the world for my questions, which I realise was not their reality, but their consideration and care in answering questions was very much appreciated.
