Were Street is off the main drag - and is a little oasis of shops between Briar Hill, Lower Plenty and Eltham. There are most basic services available (eg. a pharmacy, a supermarket, hairdressers etc). and lots of good cafes. Were St. food store and Cherry Red cafe are favourites. Railway station at bottom of the St - approx. 45 min to station.
