Moorilla Winery
Featuring ancient, modern and contemporary art, MONA, is an integrated wine, food, art and cultural experience, with boutique chalet accommodation and regular concerts. It also hosts the annual MONA FOMA music and arts festival, which will take place at various locations around Hobart from January 16-20, 2013.
MONA houses Australia's largest private modern art collection, that of collector and philanthropist David Walsh. It features the permanent, but evolving, Monanism exhibition in addition to a range of changing exhibitions.
Entry to the Museum for Tasmanian visitors is free. Interstate and overseas visitors over 18 years of age pay a $20 admission fee. Concessions are $10. The Museum is open from 10am - 6pm every day except for Tuesdays and Christmas Day. However, throughout January 2013 the Museum will be open on Tuesdays.

Well. This place is a tough one to describe. It has so much potential. Firstly - the venue. Sitting in a beautiful location on the derwent, the grounds are enormous and it provides a simply stunning relaxing environment. There are of course cafes/restaurants on site but this review will focus on the museum.
Now - as for the museum. It is no dobut amazing and has some amazing pieces of artwork. A unique collection of ancient egyptian and modern contemporary art. If you are a fan of technology then this museum is for you. There are no labels/signs anyway. They provide you with an iphone running a custom applciation to "locate" you as you walk around the museum and provide details for each exhibit.
