James and Robert von Drehnen started 'von Drehnen Brothers' in October 1981 after finishing their apprenticeships, James as a Plant Mechanic and Robert as a Panel Beater.

In 1982 due to drought they started carrying out general fabrication and truck repairs to make ends meet. Then in 1983 they moved into a bigger shed and became the CLAAS dealers for the Moree Plains Shire. They sold and serviced the full range of CLAAS headers combines balers and were renowned for their commitment to service. In 1985 they became the New Holland dealers as well as CLAAS Dealers and moved to their new and current shed on the Newell Highway. James and Robert continued their agricultural business until they sold in 1999.

By now the boys had already built up a fleet of three heavy haulage trucks and low loaders and Robert continued the transport operation while James helped build and run OLEO Industries an oil seed crushing and grain Trading company on the Menadool road near Moree.

They retained ownership of the shed and leased it to Gough and Gilmour the Caterpillar Dealers for NSW. In 2006 Gough and Gilmour closed and the shed became vacant.

So James and Robert identified that there was an opportunity to put together a Tyre and Mechanical business and so they researched the industry comparing many dealers and concluded that the TYREPOWER model with their motto of 'Service and Advice at the Right Price' would be the best option. So they set about revamping the shed.

James and Robert together with their wives Samantha and Bernadette opened in November 2006 and are going from strength to strength. Both James and Samantha are actively involved in the day to day running and with the experienced teams professional attitude, dedication to quality work, customer service and state of the art equipment it has made Moree Tyrepower one of the top tyre, wheel, service and mechanical repair workshops in the area. ...read more
