At the Mornington Peninsula Headache clinic we believe an over sensitisation of the lower brain stem (trigemino cervical nucleus) is the main driver and contributor to headache and migraine. Dysfunction in the upper 3 joints in the neck causes an increased sensitisation leading to pain. Following an accurate assessment we are able to determine which joints are contributing to this phenomenon. As a result we may be able to de-sensitise the brain stem and effectively remove the cause resulting in, at the least a reduction in symptoms and in many cases where the neck is involved we may even abolish the headache /migraine completely.
