Great location and lovely view especially from the Breakfast/dinning area, the views of the mountains were breathtaking and the pics from what you see from their website is exactly what you see in reality from the eating area. We rented a room for four over the weekend, the beds were very comfy. However, the only downfall is the minute you open the door to the hotel you can smell a faint stench (like walking into an old people's home), i guess this comes with old buildings. Other than that fun night for a group weekend away. Just don't come here alone or you will be bored out of your mind! Also be careful not to miss the exit (its a narrow elevated driveway -doesn't really look like a driveway).
Lovely old mansion style hotel with amazing Jamison valley views . It has an elegant old world charm with a fireplace in the reception area and antique look furniture . Located close to the Katoomba town center with easy access to all major attractions , it is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a relaxed stay. The restaurant offers great views and their food is splendid. Loved the distinct preparation and presentation for all their dishes.
Highly Recommended !
What a truly lovely place. Sure it has some of the faded glory of days gone by, but in a good way. There's a fireplace to sit by, and the food is great. We spent a night here, at the Restaurant on Sunday18.7.2010 and had a wonderful dinner and then tea by the fireside, a lovely chat with some of the other guests, fantastic treatment from the staff, we were escaping from where we had unfortunately booked in at another resort in Leura. Mountain Heritage saved our whole holiday in The Blue Mountains. I had tried to track it down after staying some years ago, but all I could remember was that it had once been The Californian. Never mind, we'll be back, it still has all the romance that you expect of a Blue Mountains historical place, but with excellence in food, and great service from Liam in the dining area, and the receptionist, sorry I can't remember your name, but you were so lovely to us. Thanks again.
