this visit the pasta of day $23.50 was spaghetti with slow cooked ragu of calamari, chrizo, lime crushed fennel seeds , tomato, rocket, peas and wild fennel pollen. Fish of the day was pan roasted atlantic salmon fillet with beetroot, potato hash, charred lettuce, saffron clams, mussel sauce, artichoke hearts and herbs. Dessert of the day $11.50 was lemon myrtle mousse with green tea, lemon gel, white choc crumb and blood lime $11.50

specials were a skillet omelette with smashed zucchini, pea and mint, ricotta and herb fritters , wasabi crispy peas, red chilli jam with garlic crusted sourdough $18.50. soup of the day was Asian style beef soup with caramalised winter veg, s/onion, shallots, coriander with toasted baguette $14. visited on a saturday, busy with crowds before the footy. usual modern up market pub fare

This has to be one of my favourite pubs, if only for the awesome view of the city that you get from the rooftop bar. I remember first coming here and decided to head up the stairs because the bar downstairs was pretty crowded. When I reached the roof I suddenly discovered the beauty of the rooftop bar, especially at night when you can see the lights of the city. I came here more recently and discovered that the seats out the front now had little gaming boards attached to them, such as checkers, chess, and even snakes and ladders (now that was unexpected). While they have pieces inside I'm sure you can bring your own. However, if your not all that keen on a game of snakes and ladders you can also settle for a game of pool on the second level, or simply go and sit in the rooftop bar (if it isn't too crowded that is – it can be pretty packed up there).
