Movida Aqui
The big place in the MoVida group to enjoy some of the best modern and traditional Spanish dishes in MelbourneNo need to queue at the latest MoVida venture as there is plenty of room to accommodate the Frank Camorra faithful eager to sample his Spanish fare. A fire pit in the kitchen, a preferred heat source for Spanish cooking, burns all day and into the night with a team of chefs preparing dishes such as whole fish bathed in jamon flavoured brine, thick steaks, red peppers for romesco sauce and pork loin as well as the many tapas dishes MoVida is famous for.
If you have tired of trying to score a table at the ever popular MoVida in Hosier Lane, you are going to rejoice in the fact you can walk up to MoVida Aqui, the 80-seat restaurant, or MoVida Terraza on the same level, and be sitting down, glass of wine in hand, and enjoying magnificent morsels from the kitchen before one can say, ‘Muchas gracias!’ Aqui celebrates its ample space and happily uses it to expand the MoVida repertoire of traditional Spanish fare. You can get your fix until late seven nights a week at Aqui and on school nights at ...read more

I've never been a great fan of tapas as I find I always leave a bit hungry after having spent a bit of cash. This is the place to come for tapas with passion. Very friendly staff and prompt service. Set in a city setting next to a grimy laneway, I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Be adventurous! Try everything!
We stopped in on our way back to our hotel for a few last drinks and a nibble. Propped ourselves up at the bar. Even though the main kitchen was technically closed they were able to rustle up some olives, bread and the cheese dessert to go with our wine. Utterly professional staff.
I was recommended this place when visiting Melbourne as the MoVida restaurants are quite popular here. This one had the least waiting time out of all so we decided to check it out. The large, open area made it a casual and enjoyable dining experience. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the delicious sangria. The service was excellent and the recommendations for dishes were great. However we decided to choose a few of our own which were definitely a disappointment such as the grilled octopus which had a strange taste and texture and the anchovies dish which also tasted too odd for my liking. Some of the dishes are a hit and a miss. I wouldn't come back but it was worth checking out.
