Movida Next Door

A lovely place for a special occassion with my daughter and grandson. The venue is small but works very efficiently and the food is just lovely.

Excellent. We loved the food and everything was fresh and delicious. It was expensive but worth it. It's quite a small space so get in early for a table so you don't have to wait.

Movida is one of my all time favourites. Set in the very popular photo spot, Hosier Lane, you'll be sure to come across a large number of tourists taking photos in the laneway. Unfortunately they don't take bookings, so Movida is walk ins only, Once you arrive, you pick up your drink at the bar and take in the wonderful atmosphere of this buzzing little joint.When we walked through the door the aroma of fresh seafood cooking was seductive; without seeing a menu, I knew what I wanted to eat. We were quickly seen to, and ordered some tapas to get started as well as a few of the main specials from the board, the prawns being one of those. I really enjoy my time here everytime.

Pretentious staff and customers. I felt I was made to feel like I was lucky to be there, they wanted me in and out as quickly as possible. I just didn't feel comfortable & the food was ok, not great. Will not be going back again.

Great tapas, great wines, great atmosphere! The night I came there was a riot of people waiting for tables but movement was fairly swift thanks to the resourceful and colourful staff! The food was excellent and the place was rocking! Full of Spanish delicacies and exuberance!
