Before coming to Mr Stoves, we went to a other retail outlet, where staff were friendly and eager, but gave us poor advice. Their aim was to sell us a fireplace, any fireplace, without understanding our concerns about the small space we had available. After consulting with our builder, we went back, and received still more unsound advice. They assured us we could install a stove we liked, but in fact as it turned out we couldn't. The builder suggested we contact Mr Stoves about 100km away. This company has over 35 years of building their own fireplaces and their knowledge was incredible. They spent significant time with ourselves and again over the phone with our builder, explaining what needed to be done with a small area. They advised us all the fireplaces we could use, may possibly use, and definitely should not use with all the associated reasons. It was the expertise and sound knowledge that we needed, and we got it from Mr Stoves. Full marks to ...read more
If you are looking for a wood heater then Mr Stoves is the place to visit. The showroom has a large display of wood heaters, the salesperson was very knowledgeable and helpful and there was no pushy sales pitch which was great. We chose a Vogue Navara which is built on the premises so the owner took us through to the workshop so we could see them being manufactured. Great product, fantastic price, locally manufactured.......what more could I ask for? Dont tell my wife but next year I think I will be going back for one of their Wood fired Pizza Ovens!
I recently visited Mr Stoves showroom with the intent of purchasing a wood fire for our home, despite the warnings from this website and also a friend that had dealt with them previously. The showroom was lovely and there was a variety of wood fires to choose from. The management was friendly and very knowledgeable about their product. However, when we were referred to the assistant, who seemed more interested in eating cake then helping us! Finally when they were ready, assistant proceeded to show us around the showroom with the remnants of cake on the face. We found the assistant very abrupt, especially to the other employee which they talked down to. This made me think twice about dealing with them and Mr Stoves. We eventually went with another shop for our wood fire. It amazed us how such a rude and unkept person could be working in customer service. Wouldn't recommend them.
Facts of the matter are that the fire was damaged, ,missing a fan part and they have some excuse that the doors can be realigned. The door had been damaged and was clearly not fixable.
Whilst my initial dealings with the salesperson were satisfactory, It is the management that should be setting the example and not the receptionist.
Shame on you.
Shame on you also blaming the installer for being new. Installer was the best thing about your company and was polite and realistic about not accepting a broken fireplace
I stand by what I say, as it is simply stating the truth.
My advice? check the fire before it is unloaded and before you pay any money!!
