Mt Helena Tavern

Went last night, Sunday, for dinner. We had a Our Deal voucher. We waited 1 hour for our meal! My partner ordered the scotch fillet. He said it was ok. I had the chicken parma. The chicken was a Mc Cains or Ingham oven bake, it was not a fresh piece of chicken. The taste was not very nice. We were to have dessert with our voucher. On the dessert menu was cheesecake, apple pie, sticky date pudding, mousse and chocolate pudding. Dessert of the day was posted as cheesecake. However, we were told that everything was gone but the mousse and the chocolate pudding. I saw the chocolate pudding the lady at the next table had and she did not seem impressed so we declined. Maybe the more expensive desserts were not offered to voucher people. We had a fantastic family lunch here a few Sunday's ago. The bar staff were friendly & welcoming. The lady who showed us to our table was great......good old fashioned customer service.

The food was plentiful & well cooked, fantastic choice on the menu.

The atmosphere was warm, lively and like an old fashioned English pub. Price of a jug of beer was CHEAP.

We loved, loved, loved the place. Best meal out we'd had in a long time. We will definitely be back,

What a great family atmosphere, massive beer garden with live music and a bouncy castle on Sundays. Not to mention the great food served for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Open Mic on Wednesdays and bands every Friday and Saturday nights.
