Phoned this electrician earlier this afternoon to arrange a time for a quote. He came 30 mins ago & was very unprofessional. The work I need done is a change of light fitting in the stairwell & a changeover of electrical cooktop from old to new. I told him over the phone that the light fitting was in a stairwell but not too high up & that we had both the new cooktop & light fitting already bought & here ready to go. First thing he told me when he arrived was the hole size for the light fitting may differ from the old to new and the only way to know was to take the old light fitting down. I said that was ok & after he's had a look & quoted then we'd do whatever needed to adjust. He just looked at me blankly & said he'd need his "plank" for that. Then he had a look at the cooktop job. Didn't touch anything to work out what had to be done. Just stood back & asked was the new cooktop the right size.
