Mudgee Brewing Co is both a brewery and a restaurant. Boyfriend (a beer lover) and I (not a beer lover) visited for lunch during a day trip to Mudgee.
It is situated in a century old building that used to be a Wool and Skin Store. The inside is very spacious with brewery tanks lining the wall on 1 side. There is also an outdoor beer garden, but mainly occupied by smokers.
I ordered the Bush Dust and Sea Salt Calamari ($19). There was a generous serving of calamari on a bed of roast potatoes and fresh garden salad. The calamari was lightly battered with just the right level of saltiness. Delicious and recommended! Boyfriend also ordered a tasting set of their boutique beer. He rated the pale ale and the porter.
Service was laid-back with small country town charm and friendliness. The waitress had good knowledge of their boutique beer.
Mudgee Brewing Co is a must-stop for beer lovers, or just for a casual meal.
