Occupying the whole space that used to be for Freedom furnitures, Muji has recently opened its first store in Sydney right at the CBD with its no-frills Japanese products.
They sell a little bit of everything really, like a little department store from clothings (mens, womens, kids), to beauty products, a little bit of furniture, homewares, and stationeries. For stationeries, they are pretty affordable and they have their unique 'stamp counter' where you can personalise your plain notebook covers and shopping bags with the available inked stamps free of charge. For their furniture range, they seem to be of high quality, and the price points that are translated from the Japanese Yen currency clearly tell that story.
However, one thing separates Muji from other established department stores in Australia is their returns policy. At the checkout counter they put on signs saying that they will not do returns for change of mind.
