Just providing some feedback regarding this medical centre. Very frustrated with my experiences at the medical centre. You can't make an appointment. You get a different Doctor all the time and you have to wait for hours just to get treatment if you are unwell. This has not just happened to me once but number of times and you receive only very basic care.
If you are sick you shouldn't have to wait hours to get treatment.
Some friendly advice. Don't even waste your time. Go elsewhere. I am.
Hi Mel,
Unfortunately as Murrumba Downs Medical & Dental Centre is just that; a Medical Centre each patient is triaged according to severity of illness/injury. It's a walk in clinic, therefore no appointment is necessary. Whilst the wait time can be excrusiating at times, it beats being unable to book an appointment at all because the Centre is booked out. I suggest trying Family Practice at Kallangur at 1380 Anzac Avenue. However, you do need to book an appointment a few days in advance as it does book out quickly.
Seems a hit and miss with reception staff.. but I guess with how busy they are I can't hold their attitude against them. They are only human and deal with a lot of complaining.
Yes the wait times are really long, as they are for any walk in clinic but I haven't had any issues with any of the doctors and they all seem to be really good and efficient.
Not ideal to take all your children if you can avoid doing so (unless they are sick) I know for me it's a nightmare taking 4 healthy energetic kids while I'm sick.
Over all.. long waits, staff will get fed up with annoying people but the doctors are good and worth the wait if you have no other option.
Long wait times but it is a walk in clinic so can't really be helped.
Both my fiance' and I have been here several times and also twice with our daughter.
The doctors are super busy and also are amazing, friendly and have the time to listen to you.
The nurses as well have a great demeanour and are super patient.
I'm so frustrated with one of the receptionist every time I call she's rude and no help at all. I have to wait one hour for a script for medication that's on my file that I take daily.thats the minimum wait time just for a script. Trying to get in to see my doctor I have to ring at 6.30 am to get an appointment even then I get told she's all booked out. If this continues I think it's time to go to a different practice.
Have been attending here for at least 2 years, Medical staff are always excellent. Often can get same DR- prior planning helps. Wait times can be quite long - 1 t0 2hrs sometimes. Very busy clinic. Whilst I wait, I am reading through 'War & Peace' and also the 'Old Testament'. I take an MP3 with me and get to listen to [entire] Wagner Opera's [The Ring Cycle is always good] and also 'Handels Messiah'- 2+hrs. A bit of pre-planning. {I am thinking of studying medicine myself- but I do not go to the Dr's that often}.
