two words i would use to describe my budget is "LIFE SAVER", i would be lost without my budget. I was drowning in confusion as to where my money was going. I am a single mum with two kids, I work, I receive part pension, and child maintenance, all of which came in at different times of the week, fortnight and month. I was feeling so lost. I bit the bullet and rang my budget, i was certainly scared, but once i went into the interview with all my documents, bills, wage slips, etc, i left feeling like id lifted such a weight off my shoulders. I actually cried in the interview when the lady told me id be OK.... all i had to do was change a couple of things around to get my money going to them and that was it. After having breast cancer and being unable to work because of sickness, we got behind in our bills, once I went back to work we caught up a little bit but not completely; as our lease was finishing in January, my hubby and I decided to move cities and go and live in Brisbane, I was back at work by then and my hubby just needed to find work, we thought that it wouldn't be that hard...unfortunately he couldn't find work and our debts got further and further behind, it got to the stage where I couldn't sleep and was really getting worried, we were watching tv one day when an add come on advertising "my budget" and I thought ok I'll keep that in my mind, one day we decided that we couldn't do it on our own anymore so I rang up "my budget" and got them to help us, I don't know what I expected but the guy I spoke with was incredibly friendly didn't judge us and was really helpful, he said we normally give appointments at about a week, but in your case we ...read more
