Napier Hotel

I seem to have become a bit of a regular at this place, namely because I keep on mistaking it for another pub near by that has a really cool rooftop deck. I discovered that this wasn't the pub when I started walking up the stairs, to the horror of the staff, who politely directed me to the pub that I was actually thinking about. However they didn't kick me out and explained that their beer garden was down the side. Anyway, this is one of those really cool out of the way gems that can be quiet (with the exception of the beer garden), and has a really nice atmosphere. Okay, they have quite a lot of Fiztroy Lions memorabilia around the place, but that's not surprising considering the pub is in Fitzroy. I particularly liked the stag head that was wearing the anti-McDonald's T-shirt though.

The Napier is one of those charming pubs hidden away. Big on Fitzroy AFL, before the Lions, the people are friendly and the food at the bar can't be faulted. Great place in summer too.
