I have been seeing a doctor here for an autoimmune disease that traditional medicine is unable to help with. Her insight, support, assurances and wisdom have completely turned my energy levels around.
We did a range of testing and found the cause of various issues I was having – issues that several specialists and my GP did not find. For example, I had pain in my fingers and toes that my GP and several nephrologists shrugged at, saying ‘Well, you have an autoimmune disease now so these things happen.’ But my doctor at NIIM did some blood tests and discovered high uric acid, which is gout. This centre has just about everything you could want and performs a variety of treatments to improve health and well-being. If you don't want to wait 20 years for medical science to catch up with research, you could find some benefit here. However, the services are extremely expensive and waiting lists are very long. If you have nagging health problems or are in the midst of a health crisis, the comprehensive services could be of benefit. Some of the treatments are slightly "fringe" so consider carefully. Some doctors are also not taking new patients.
I am really disappointed with my experience at NIMM clinic. I had a follow up appointment to get my test results and have IV infusions done. The clinic called the day of my appointment to cancel and say my Dr was on leave for a couple of month, I asked to see another Dr or for a referral elsewhere and they just shrugged me of and pretty much said my only option was to wait. I asked for the Dr to call me to discuss an alternative in the Dr's absence and also what I can do in regards to how awful I am feeling at the moment but no call. I understand that things happen but at least have the decency to help your patients an alternative in your absence. I will never go back and will spread the word of this unprofessional behavior.
