This is another of those places that despite having lived in Adelaide a bulk of my life, I never made the effort to go and visit it (isn't it funny how one is never a tourist in their home town). Anyway, on one of my recent trips back I decided that I would remedy that situation (especially since my brother loves trains). Anyway, despite it being called 'The National Railway Museum' it only explores the history of railway in South Australia, though there is quite a lot to see here anyway. For instance they have the old time table information that used to sit on the concourse of the Adelaide Railway Station (as well as the clock), and the a couple of carriages from the Tea and Sugar train which used to service the settlements across the Nullabour plain. There are also a couple of carriages from the old Overland service between Adelaide and Melbourne.
