From 5 years of age national taekwondo teaches proper technique, strength in all aspects of ones life, a fitness program to keep ones body healthy and sound, how to confront bullies in a mature way to diffuse any tricky situation.
The techniques taught at national taekwondo are too direct and powerfully for competitions therefore we simulate sparring in class. Students do not wear protective equipment as we learn control and the only contact made is the powerful blocking.
